Kingston Data Traveler Mini 3.0 Review

I just received a new Kingston Data Traveler Mini 3.0 64gb variant from amazon.in . It's first look was so amusing that how am I suppose to store 64gb of data in this tiny chip. I couldn't hold that amusement for so long and I just inserted it in my lappy. Here is an look of how does it appear when I'm holding it in my hand.

The DTM30 derive its name from the fact that it is so tiny that will not be even visible when it is inserted in a device. It is an 3.0 USB pen drive which is backward compatibility with USB 2.0 ports as well. It comes with 5 years warranty from Kingston which can be claimed from any service centres.
The outer casing looks good as Kingston specifies that it is metal body but when watched carefully, one can easily say the metal quality is poor. This casing looks like plastic. Though the outer casing is metal, it is very light- almost 20 gm. It has small whole at the backside for inserting key chain as it is so small that it can be lost easily.
Kingston DTM30 comes in three different variants.

 The 16 gb variant, red metallic.

   The 32 gb variant, comes in blue metallic.

and the biggest, 64gb variant comes in grey metallic.

The very first test was durability test. I threw it on ground from 10 meters above. Wow. Nothing happened. Test passed.

Speed Test

I tested its speed in my laptop's one 3.0 port and one 2.0 port and amazingly, results were incredible.

USB 3.0 Test-

Write Speed is around 15-18 Mbps

Read Speed is around 70-80 Mbps

Conclusion

I am not that kind of tech savvy but in my experience, I can say that DTM30 is just an average product. I have used SanDisk Cruzer Force as well and it gives even better performance ( around 30% more efficiency). But if price considered, this is an budget storage device; much cheaper than its rivals.
